Whole/Half Animal Shares
Thanks for taking a look! Here’s the quick version of how everything works from start to finish.
First, you reserve your whole or half hog by placing a deposit. You can do this anytime during the season. For 2026 animals, deposits close on 9/28/2026.
Second, after your deposit is processed electronically, we’ll send you a cutsheet so you can choose how you want your pork prepared. If that feels overwhelming, don’t worry: we offer a guided cutsheet that walks you through the choices based on how you cook, and you’re always welcome to reach out. We’re more than happy to talk things through or hop on a call, too. Cutsheets for the 2026 season are due September 25, so you’ll have time to think it over.
Third, about one to two months before pickup, we’ll send out a quick survey to figure out which pickup day and time works best for you.
Fourth, once the locker sends us the hanging weights, we’ll email your final invoice for the remaining balance of the hog and the processing bill.
Lastly, within one month of the processing date, we’ll meet you at one of our drop‑off locations: Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Iowa City, or Eagan (MN).
